After you’ve submitted your application, it will go to the distributor. We’ll send you an email when they’ve accepted your application.
If you have solar and are in New South Wales, Queensland or South Australia, your application will go to the meter service provider for processing (they complete the installation).
We'll contact you within two business days if we need more information or there are any issues.
You'll be notified of the installation date as soon as possible.
On the day, please make sure that:
If these conditions aren’t met, the installation will not be able to proceed. You may also be charged a wasted visit fee. If this happens, the installation timeframe will reset once the issue has resolved and you've let us know.
We’ll email you to confirm that installation is complete. Any distributor charges will appear on your electricity bill.
If you have solar, we’ll email you to confirm that you can turn on your distributed energy resource (DER) device.
If you’re in New South Wales, the meter service provider will create an initial record and provide you with a NMI and job number. You can use this information to create an account in the DER Register Portal and enter the details of the solar panels or solar battery in your DER record.
If you’re in Victoria, Queensland or South Australia, the distributor will complete the DER registration.
The fees for a meter installation depend on your distributor or meter service provider, as well as the work needed. We're unable to advise of these charges before getting your application. When we get your application, we'll give you a call if there are any non-standard charges.
When installation is complete, we’ll become your electricity retailer, if we’re not already, through our standard retail contract. We also have other available offers, including lower cost options. Find them:
