AGL connections terms and conditions for new home build customers

When you signed up with your builder, you signed up with AGL via our form or completed our signup within AGL's New Connections platform. For your reference, below are our Connections terms and conditions and Important Information you agreed to.

The electricity installation terms you agreed to

For electricity installations, I agree to the following:

  • I authorise AGL to arrange for the Meter Service Provider to install the electricity meter and connection at the supply address on the earlier of either a date agreed with me or within 6 business days from the completion of the supply work, including any additional metering alterations required for solar installation. If there are any additional metering alterations required for solar installation, I agree to accept the standard Addition/Alteration charge, which will appear on my next account. Most addition/alteration charges are passed-through by AGL from my Meter Service Provider and vary according to the works required and my distribution zone.
  • I acknowledge that my builder may receive a fee from AGL for referring me to AGL.
  • I acknowledge and agree that upon installation, electricity for the supply address listed will be sold to me on the terms and conditions and rates that apply under AGL's Standard Retail Contract.
  • I understand and agree that AGL may vary rates from time to time, and if so AGL will notify me. The solar feed-in tariffs under this energy plan are variable and can change with notice to you at any time.

The gas installation terms you agree to

For Gas installations, I agree to the following:

  • I  authorise AGL to arrange for the Distributor to install natural gas at the supply address listed on the date the request is accepted, or as soon afterwards as can conveniently be arranged.
  • I understand the acceptance of the installation work is subject to an on-site check of conditions by the Distributor. Work is subject to availability of a suitable gas main at the property boundary. NOTE. The account holder must obtain written approval from the affected parties to lay pipes in any common service access areas, particularly for battle-axe blocks with no street frontage, dual occupancy, common driveways etc. I acknowledge that offers for the sale of natural gas are not available to all geographical areas and are subject to natural gas availability.
  • I agree to accept the standard installation charge, which will appear on the first account. I understand most installation charges are passed-through by AGL from my Distributor and vary according to the works required and my distribution zone. Should the works attract a non-standard charge, I will be contacted for approval before proceeding.
  • I understand the site specific information will be provided by my builder to AGL and the relevant distributors.
  • I acknowledge and agree that upon installation, gas for the supply address listed will be sold to me on the terms and conditions and rates that apply under AGL's Standard Retail Contract (known as a Standard Form Contract in Western Australia).
  • I understand and agree that AGL may vary rates from time to time, and if so AGL will notify me.
  • I acknowledge that my builder may receive a fee from AGL for referring me to AGL.

  • AGL's Standard Retail Contract rates, fees and terms and conditions are available at Standard retail contracts. We may vary these rates and fees not more than once every 6 months, with notice to you in accordance with Regulatory Requirements and our Standard Retail Contract. Our Standard Form Contract "Things you should know" booklet contains important information about being an AGL customer, so please take a moment to look over this document.
  • Our Basic Plan Information Documents (also called Energy Fact Sheets) contain the key information about AGL’s Standard Retail Contract, and are available at Basic Plan Information Documents.
  • AGL have alternate generally available offers, including lower cost options. These offers can be found when you Compare energy plans or by calling us on 131 245.
  • For Western Australian customers, a copy of the Gas Marketing Code of Conduct and Compendium of Gas Licence Conditions is available on the AGL website or by calling 1300 715 952. Other important information about the services AGL can provide and information relevant to your account will be sent in the Confirmation Pack.

Comparison price (NSW, SA, QLD)

Comparison price is set by the Australian Energy Regulator (AER). In New South Wales, South Australia and Queensland, for a customer on a single rate tariff, the electricity standing offer is equivalent to the comparison price for an average usage customer. These amounts will differ for other tariff types, distribution areas and usage amounts. To see how current rates compare to the comparison price (including the average usage amounts) for all tariff types and areas, view AGL's published electricity rates at agl.com.au/src.
