You can add a Home Phone plan from $10 a month and make unlimited calls anywhere in Australia. You’ll need an AGL supplied modem (no BYO modem with Home Phone Plan). The minimum cost of this plan is $159 ($10/mth + $149 modem cost).
Our plans use VoIP technology, which stands for Voice over Internet Protocol. Basically, it allows you to make phone calls using your internet connection (just like when you use programs like Skype).
When you make calls with a traditional landline, you’re using a wired connection. With a home phone plan using VoIP, your conversation is transmitted digitally.
Once you sign up, we'll begin processing your connection. Depending on your connectivity type and previous installations, an nbn technician appointment may be required. We'll let you know and provide details of the appointment if needed.
If a technician appointment isn't required, hang tight. We'll arrange to get you connected remotely and dispatch your modem, if it's been ordered. We'll keep you posted on the progress and provide a connection date as soon as possible.
If you’re bringing your own modem, you need to ensure it’s compatible with the nbn network and follow any requirements or directions provided by us or nbn co. Check with your modem manufacturer if you’re unsure about compatibility.
With Standard, Fast or Superfast plans, you can buy a TP-Link VX230v modem or eero mesh wi-fi device outright from us for $149. The type of device you receive may depend on availability, plan type and your nbn connection type. Home Ultrafast customers who take up our Home Phone plan can also buy the TP-Link VX230v modem. This charge will appear on your first bill. You can also choose to pay monthly with a device payment plan over 12 months ($12.41 per month, total cost $148.92) or 24 months ($6.20 per month, total cost $148.80).
Home Ultrafast customers (without the Home Phone plan) can buy the eero 6+ device outright for $210. This charge will appear on your first bill. You can also choose to pay monthly with a device payment plan over 12 months ($17.50 per month, total cost $210) or 24 months ($8.75 per month, total cost $210).
If you cancel your nbn plan within the device payment plan period, you’ll need to pay out the remaining modem fee (the monthly modem fee for each remaining month) as a lump sum on your next bill. Read the Device Payment Plan terms for more details.
The speed of your internet connection depends on a number of factors including:
Your Fixed Wireless nbn plan speeds are variable in nature and are not guaranteed. Actual speeds depend on various factors, such as how far the transmission tower is located from your premises, the antenna’s line of sight to the tower, weather conditions, network congestion (particularly during the busy hours), and your in-premises setup. Service outages and issues can also affect your nbn speeds. You can check the status of your service by visiting our nbn outages and network status page.
If you aren’t fully satisfied with your actual speeds and we can’t fix the issue, we can move you over to a lower speed (where available) so you only pay for the speeds your connection can deliver.
Actual speeds for FTTC, FTTB and FTTN services to be confirmed with you.
The nbn Fibre Connect program is currently rolling out in selected areas. It gives eligible households a faster, more reliable nbn connection by upgrading their connection type to Fibre.
If you’re connected to the nbn network via Fibre to the Node (FTTN) or Fibre to the Curb (FTTC), you may be eligible to upgrade your connection to Fibre to the Premise (FTTP).
Upgrading to FTTP will give you access to a more reliable network and higher speed plans, which means you can do more online with less interruptions including:
