Log in and create passwords

Help to log in to My Account and the AGL app, and creating passwords.

With My Account and the AGL app you can do things like check your energy usage and pay your bills online. Here you'll find information to help you log in and create passwords.

Log in for the first time

  1. Go to the Login screen (this is the same if you want to log in to the AGL app)
  2. Enter your email address or the mobile number that is linked to your account and select 'Next'
  3. We’ll send a one-time code to your email or mobile
  4. Enter this code in the 'Enter Code' field and select 'Next' to finalise login

Got a message saying your email isn't registered? Select 'Forgot your email address' from the Login screen.

Choose a password or use one-time codes

After you've logged in for the first time, you can create a password. Or, keep using one-time codes to log in.

  1. Log in with your email or mobile
  2. Enter the one-time code we send to your email or mobile
  3. Select your name in the top right corner then 'Profile'
  4. On the ‘Login details’ tile, find 'Login password' then select 'Edit'
  5. Choose your password and save the settings

About one-time codes

A one-time code is a secure and temporary code sent to an email address or mobile number. It's a way of checking that the person trying to log in to My Account also has access to the linked email account or mobile number.

The one-time code is only valid for five minutes after it is sent. If it expires, you'll need to request another one..

You can use a one-time code to log in to your account, even if you don't have your password.

  1. Log in with your email or mobile
  2. We’ll send a one-time code to your email or mobile
  3. Enter this code in the 'Enter Code' field and select 'Next' to finalise login. You'll need to use the code within five minutes.

Log in

  1. Log in with your email address
  2. If you’re set up with a password, you'll see a ‘Password’ field. Enter your password and select ‘Login’.
  3. If the screen says ‘Verify Code’, enter your one-time code

Want to create a password?

  1. Log in with your mobile number
  2. You'll receive an SMS with a one-time code
  3. Enter the one-time code and select ‘Login’

If you can't log in with your mobile, you may need to verify your mobile.

Set up or deactivate two-factor authentication

Two-factor authentication (2FA) provides an extra layer of security and helps keep your AGL account safe. 2FA is optional for most customers, but we may ask you to activate it if you ask for extra security or if we notice something unusual.

  1. In the AGL app 'Account' tab, tap 'Settings'
  2. Tap 'Login Details'
  3. Tap 'Set Up Two-Factor Authentication' to activate or deactivate 2FA
  1. In My Account select your name in the top right corner, then 'Profile'
  2. On the ‘Login details’ tile, find 'Two-factor authentication' then select 'Edit'
  3. From here you’ll be able to activate or deactivate 2FA

Log in with two-factor authentication

  1. Log in with your email or mobile
  2. We’ll send a six-digit code to your email or mobile
  3. Enter the six-digit code, then proceed. The code will expire after five minutes

Link Facebook, Windows, Google for login

  1. In the AGL app 'Account' tab, tap 'Settings'
  2. Tap 'Login Details'
  3. Tap 'Link Social' and link your social or third party accounts
  1. In My Account select your name in the top right corner, then 'Profile'
  2. On the 'Login details' tile, find 'Social media accounts' then select 'Edit'
  3. Select your social account
  4. Log in to your social or third party account and follow the prompts
