AGL Privacy Policy: By continuing with your electricity service following your transfer to AGL, you acknowledge and agree that AGL and its related companies will collect and handle your personal information in accordance with the AGL Privacy Policy and that we may share your personal information with third parties for the purpose of servicing your account. We may use your information to promote our products and services, including products and services offered by other members of the AGL Group or third parties we work with, unless you opt-out. We'll cancel your Centrepay arrangement on 23 October 2025.
You’ll need to update your details with Services Australia to use Centrepay for your energy bills. We cannot transfer Centrepay arrangements over, as you’re required to choose AGL as your service provider.

Any government concessions that apply to your Ampol account will move to AGL, using the consent you previously shared with Ampol to confirm your eligibility. Withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us.¹
Ampol Energy will no longer be in the market, because Ampol Energy (Retail) Pty Ltd (Ampol Energy) has been acquired by AGL Sales Pty Limited (AGL).
This transaction will not impact your electricity retail service and, AGL will contact you in relation to the transfer of your existing service, subject to regulatory approvals.
Ampol will no longer provide you with their 10c/L fuel discount beyond the last day of the month of your next contract anniversary date - which has now become your fuel discount expiry date. We will write to you to let you know when your fuel discount end date is approaching.
Your fuel discount was unique to Ampol, so this will also end if you change plans with AGL, move to another supply address or move to a different service provider.
In the meantime, you can still track your fuel discount usage and see the expiry date in the Rewards tab of the Ampol app.
Any existing authorised persons listed on your account will continue to have access to your account following your transfer to AGL.
Authorised Contact Persons is a standard permission available for all your AGL services.
Authorised Contact Persons can access information we hold about you, discuss and make some changes to your account, such as make a payment, general account maintenance and disconnecting existing services, but they cannot connect new services in your name or change security levels on your account.

Alongside your electricity plan we also offer access to great value gas, internet and mobile plans, plus a range of solar products and bundles.
With your AGL account you can check bills, make payments, view and compare your electricity usage, submit a gas meter read and more, online or in the AGL app.
In some cases, we might have asked you to choose an alternative energy retailer in our letters and emails to you. This is because AGL doesn’t operate or offer residential market plans in your area.
Rest assured, your electricity service will not be interrupted, and you'll remain on your current plan while we transfer your account. However, we encourage you to choose an alternative retailer that best suits your needs.
Select or compare energy retailers in your state on the Australian Government comparator site Energy Made Easy. This is a government-led comparator website that helps you compare readily available plans in your area and doesn’t charge or receive a commission.
If you don’t want to transfer to AGL, you also have the option to choose another energy retailer without exit fees.

¹Existing Ampol concessions: Government concessions applying to your Ampol account will be transferred to AGL. AGL will use the consent you provided to Ampol for Centrelink Confirmation eServices to confirm your eligibility with Services Australia for these entitlements.
You can withdraw your consent by calling Ampol (13 14 04) before the transfer or 131 245 once you are with us. If you withdraw your consent, you will need to prove your eligibility for the concessions in another way.

The information we collect about you may include your name, supply address, delivery point identifier, email and postal address, phone number, concession details, direct debit details and consumption data. We may share your information with our related companies in the AGL Group, third-party service providers (including some located overseas) who provide services to help run our business, including network service providers and other third parties as set out in section 5 of our Privacy Policy. AGL will maintain your existing communication and marketing preferences unless you notify us otherwise by contacting us or by opting out of AGL marketing. You can also update your contact details or communication preferences at any time in AGL My Account or the App.
