Our success is shaped and measured not only by the financial outcomes of what we do, but by the social and environmental impact our decisions and actions have on the wider community.
AGL's corporate citizenship program, Energy for Life, builds on AGL's local community engagement strategy and seeks to make a genuine contribution to the wider community. The program aims to positively respond to emerging sustainability risks, especially with respect to energy-related financial hardship in the community, and provides opportunities for our employees to give something back to the broader communities in which they live and work.
With electricity prices forecast to rise substantially over the coming years, AGL accepts that this has potential to act as a cumulative financial stress or on families with low incomes and strongly advocates a shared responsibility model across Government, NGOs and corporate Australia.
AGL has decided to go over and above our existing commitments when it comes to supporting households unable to meet the costs of the ongoing energy requirements, targeting the three core areas of prevention, capacity building and crisis support through our Energy for Life strategic partnerships.
