AGL Community Power

AGL is launching AGL Community Power. This is our commitment to finding new ways to make sure people who might have missed out on the energy transition, because they can’t afford solar assets or don’t own a property, can still benefit from it.

About AGL Community Power

We're investing to help customers who can't purchase energy assets such as solar and batteries, to share in the benefit of these assets.

We’ll roll out new initiatives to help both us and our customers to get more out of their energy. It’s a win-win: you’ll get access to great benefits and we can work together to build a more reliable and sustainable energy future.

One of Australia's largest Community Power Plants

We're finding innovative ways to extend the benefits of the energy transition to members of the community who need it most.

One way we're doing this is through a Virtual Power Plant (VPP). A VPP is a network of solar and battery systems that work together to stabilize the energy grid during peak times.

Community Power Q&A

We want to ensure that all customers are at the centre of the energy transition.  Customers participating in this program will receive discounted electricity rates.  We’ll coordinate solar and battery usage, which can be used to help stabilise the electricity grid in times of peak demand.

The VPP's innovative model means we can extend the benefits of the energy transition, for the people who need it the most.

This SA-VPP follows on from our existing package of community support to help address cost of living pressures. We're being clear in our commitment to making sure all communities can be part of the transition.

You'll see more innovative approaches from us to support people facing barriers joining the energy transition.
