Change details, account name and authorised person

Learn how to change your details, account name and the authorised person on your account.

Update email or mobile number

My Account

  1. In My Account, select your name in the top right, then Settings
  2. Under the profile and security tab, go to Email or Mobile and select Edit.
  3. Enter your new email address or mobile number and select Update to save.

AGL app

To update your email address or mobile number in the AGL app:

  1. Go to Account then Settings then Profile Details.
  2. Update your email address or mobile number and select Update.

Update your mailing address

My Account

  1. In My Account select your name in the top right, then Settings.
  2. In the Profile and Security tab go to Mailing address and select Chat.
  3. The chat window will open, and our AGL Assistant will help you update your mailing address.

Update personal details

Name, title or date of birth

To update or correct your name, title or date of birth, we need to first confirm your identity. For us to do this, please contact us.

New address

If you're moving home and want to connect an AGL energy supply or internet to your new address, visit Move house.

Deceased estate

Change account name

If there's an existing AGL internet or energy supply to a property that you want to transfer from one account holder to another, the new account holder needs to sign up to a plan with AGL using their details. Doing this will automatically cancel the old account and the account with the new account holder will start.

Add or remove an authorised person

You can add contacts like your wife, husband, partner or carer to your energy account or remove them as an authorised person. By adding them you are authorising them to access information we hold about you and your account, and make changes to your account, including disconnecting the supply. They won't be able to add new products or connections and they won't be listed on the bill, as only one person can be listed on an account. 

If your authorised representative makes a non-routine request on your behalf, we may contact you for confirmation.

My Account

  1. In My Account, select your name in the top right corner, then Settings.
  2. Go to the Profile and Security tab and scroll to Privacy.
  3. Go to Authorised contact persons and select Edit.
  4. Follow the prompts to add or remove an authorised contact.

AGL for Business customers need to contact us to update authorised persons.

If you want to have a power of attorney, court-appointed authority, state trustee or a financial counsellor added to your account as an authorised contact, you can find out what your options are by contacting us.
