AGL Battery Rewards Plan

Get up to $600 a year in Digital Prepaid Visa Gift Cards

Export at least 1kWh from your solar battery to the grid between 5–9pm, and after 3 months you'll earn a gift card.

The amount you'll earn depends on how much you export. For example, if you export 700-750kWh over 3 months, you’ll get a $150 gift card. Keep this up and you'll earn up to $600 in gift cards a year.

No lock-in contract with variable rates

Change your plan anytime and if you need to leave, we don’t charge an exit fee. Your rates can go up or down with written notice to you.

Solar feed-in tariff

Get a 4c/kWh feed-in tariff (excl. GST) for your solar exports. This tariff can change from time to time with five business days' written notice to you. Maximum system capacity and eligibility criteria apply. See full conditions.

Things you should know

Most solar batteries have a feature that allows you to automatically schedule your solar exports and the amount you want to export. Making it easy to manage your battery rewards.

To sign up to this plan you’ll need to:

be a residential customer in NSW, QLD, SA
have a solar battery of any brand installed at the supply address,
have a digital meter (also known as a smart meter, interval meter or comms meter).

The value of your Prepaid Digital Visa Card is based on the amount of energy you export during peak times over a 3-month period.

Export: Your energy exports must occur between 5pm and 9pm.
Total: We’ll calculate the total amount of energy you’ve exported over 3 months during peak times.
Earnings: For every 1-50 kWh exported, you’ll earn $10 worth of Digital Prepaid Visa Card (to a max of $400 in each 3-month period).
Gift card: At the end of your 3-month period, we’ll let you know how much you’ve exported, along with your Prepaid Digital Visa card via email and SMS.

Follow these steps to activate your card:

Open your activation email to redeem your card.
Confirm your preferred mobile number.
Open your SMS link and follow the prompts to add your Prepaid Digital Visa card to your digital wallet.

You must activate your gift card within 3 years of issue. Your Prepaid Digital Visa Card will be valid for 3 years from the date of issue.
