What are the prices, terms and conditions for AGL customers?

If you’re an AGL customer but didn’t accept a market contract energy plan or are using energy without contacting us to set up an account, then you are on a standard retail contract. The standard energy contract is a plan that is governed by the applicable energy regulations.

If you sign up to a gas standard retail contract, these prices will change on 1 August 2026. 

Please keep in mind that prices for gas standard retail contracts will change on 1 August 2026. If you sign up, we’ll let you know the new prices that will apply from that date. The new prices are also published below.

The rates and fees applicable on our standard retail contract for SA are as follows:

AGL has varied its Standard Form Contract Terms and Conditions following recent changes to regulatory requirements applicable to small gas customers in WA. These changes have been approved by the Economic Regulation Authority with effect from 1 July 2024. These include:

  • changes to the notice requirements for a variation to gas rates and charges;  
  • the inclusion of new protections for vulnerable residential customers;
  • changes to the payment assistance available if you are having trouble paying your bill; and
  • changes to the steps we will take if you have been overcharged for reasons other than an error by us or your distributor.

The government's Solar Sharer Offer

The Australian Government’s Solar Sharer Offer (SSO) is an opt-in electricity offer for residential customers in NSW, QLD and SA that includes three hours of free electricity usage daily (11am-2pm in NSW and QLD and 12pm-3pm in SA).

Things to consider

  • The SSO is best suited to customers who can shift their usage to the free usage period. Not shifting your usage to this period could result in higher electricity costs.

  • You may be charged for use exceeding the reasonable use cap during the free usage period.

  • Daily supply and controlled load charges still apply during the free usage period.

  • A smart meter is required to be eligible for this offer. If you don’t have a smart meter, we can arrange to have one installed on your behalf.
