Pass through fees

A distributor is a company (separate from AGL) that will look after the electricity poles, wires and pipes in your area. If we need to arrange a repair or service on your behalf, we may pass through the fees that they’ve charged us onto your bill.

New connection fees for gas

In New South Wales, your gas distributor will charge a fee for standard new gas connections, which AGL will pass through to you on your bill.

The following indicative connection cost ranges (GST incl.) are:

  • New home in a new estate, where mains have been laid adjacent to the property within the last 5 years: $1,400 to $3,200.

  • Knockdown rebuild or new home in an established area, where mains are adjacent to the property: $2,700 to $4,600.

The fee will depend on your location, distributor and connection type. The indicative cost ranges above are provided as a guide only and are subject to change. Your gas distributor will confirm the actual connection fee when assessing your application.
