Activate an eSIM

How to activate your eSIM

Make sure your device is connected to WiFi and you scan the QR code with the same device that you want to activate the eSIM on.

1. Using the camera function on your device, scan the QR code in your welcome email

2. Follow the prompts on your phone to register your eSIM

If you’re transferring your number, you’ll also need to: 

3. Log in to My Account, then select a property (if applicable) 

4. Scroll down to the Mobile section 

5. Select Activate SIM and follow the prompts  

Please note: if you currently have a physical SIM, keep it in your phone until it stops working.  

We’ll send you a confirmation SMS when your activation is complete.

These steps may vary slightly depending on your device and the operating system it runs. It’s always good to check your device’s manual. 

For iOS/iPhone

  1. Check that handset is connected to WiFi
  2. Go to Settings, then Mobile
  3. Select Add eSIM
  4. Select Use QR code
  5. Scan the unique QR code on the device, using the unique code provided
  6. Choose whether you want your new eSIM mobile number to be the primary line or just for mobile data
  7. Choose whether you want your new eSIM mobile number to be the primary line or supplementary line for mobile data
  8. Choose which line you’d like to setup for iMessage/FaceTime
  9. eSIM will begin the activation process
  10. eSIM has successfully been activated

For Android/Samsung 

  1. Check that handset is connected to WiFi
  2. Scan the unique QR code on the device, using the unique code provided
  3. Follow the prompts until the eSIM has been added
  4. Once activation has been completed, the mobile number (new or ported over) will display
  5. Confirmation SMS will be received confirming successful activation

For Pixel 

  1. On your eSIM-compatible device, go to Settings
  2. Select Network and internet then SIMs (add a network) 
  3. Select Download a SIM instead and follow the prompts
