About the project
AGL is working with Wind Prospect to develop the Hexham wind farm.
AGL is the potential long-term owner and operator have been working with Wind Prospect, as the developer of the Hexham wind farm. If acquired by AGL, we would progress the Project through final investment decision, construction and operation.
AGL has been awarded a Capacity Investment Scheme (CIS), the Project aims to contribute to Australia’s target to reach 82% renewable electricity by 2030 and deliver an extra 40 GW of capacity to the National Electricity Market (NEM).
The project includes:
- Up to 106 turbines (with 600 MW of renewable energy capacity)
- A new on-site terminal station
- Underground cabling and overhead transmission lines within the project boundary
- Access tracks and temporary construction infrastructure such as batching plants and laydown areas
- Provision for a battery energy storage facility
