AGL modem offer available with a 12-month device payment plan. If you cancel your nbn plan within 12 months, an early termination fee of $10 for each month remaining, plus the month of cancellation, will apply for each modem. The minimum cost if you cancel within one month is $120 for one modem, $240 for two modems or $360 for three modems, plus one month of your nbn plan fees.
Frequently asked questions
Yes, you can bring your own modem (BYO) if you’re not connecting a home phone with us and your modem is:
compatible with the nbn network and your nbn connection type
not locked to another internet provider
can support the connection speeds on your plan (otherwise you may experience slower speeds).

Things to know when you BYO
Because we can’t remotely connect to a BYO modem:
we won’t be able to do our regular tests and checks
we can only provide general troubleshooting advice
you need to let us know if your nbn service is experiencing issues, so we can look into it.
The type of equipment you need depends on your plan and nbn connection type.
Properties with FTTN (Fibre to the Node) and FTTB (Fibre to the Building)
These connections need a modem-router, like the TP-Link VX230v modem.
Properties with FTTC (Fibre to the Curb), FTTP (Fibre to the Premises), HFC (Hybrid Fibre Coaxial) and Fixed Wireless
We recommend using a Wi-Fi router, like an eero device. These properties have an nbn connection box that handles the modem function.
Properties with a home phone service
If you add a home phone service to your plan you'll need the TP-Link VX230v modem.
No, AGL supplied modems are only available for purchase when you sign up to an AGL nbn plan. They can't be purchased separately.
