No lock-in contract

Change your plan anytime and if you need to leave, we don’t charge an exit fee.

This energy plan is ongoing so you don’t have to worry about renewing. Your rates and rewards can go up or down with written notice to you.

Things you should know

You can earn over 25c per kWh in Peak Export Rewards (paid as Visa gift cards) + standard retail Feed-in Tariff (FiT) when your battery exports during peak times. Plus if you are on a time-of-use (ToU) tariff you’ll come out ahead even if you charge back from the grid overnight, thanks to cheaper overnight rates.

The value of your gift card is based on the amount of energy you export during peak times over a 3-month period.

How it works:

Export: Your energy exports must occur between 5pm and 9pm.
Total: We’ll calculate the total amount of energy you’ve exported over 3 months during peak times.
Earnings: For every 1-40 kWh exported, you’ll earn $10 worth of Digital Prepaid Visa Gift Cards (to a max of $400 in each 3-month period).
Gift card: At the end of your 3-month period, we’ll let you know how much you’ve exported, along with your Prepaid Digital Visa card via email and SMS.

Most solar batteries come with a feature that lets you automatically schedule when and how much energy you export to the grid. It’s a simple way to stay in control of your energy and your rewards.

Our Virtual Power Plant (VPP) offer is separate to the AGL Battery Rewards Plan.

With the Battery Rewards Plan you can use any solar battery you want and exporting is up to you. We don’t touch your battery.

If you meet the VPP eligibility requirements, you can join the VPP as well as the Battery Rewards Plan, and start earning even more rewards with your battery. If you join the VPP we may control when your battery charges or discharges.

¹Prepaid Digital Visa gift cards are allocated quarterly and value varies depending on kWh exported during certain peak times. T&Cs available at Market Contracts. ²A ToU (time of use) tariff means you pay different rates for electricity at different times. If you are a ToU customer, the combined value of the gift cards and feed-in tariff you receive for exporting during the 5pm-9pm peak window exceeds the price you would pay for buying electricity at your off-peak overnight rate. You can view your electricity rates above to find your off-peak rate and configure your battery accordingly.

To receive your Prepaid Digital Visa Card, AGL's fulfilment partner Blackhawk Network Australia Pty Ltd (Blackhawk) will collect your name, email address and phone number for the purpose of issuing and activating your Prepaid Visa Card. If you don't provide this information to Blackhawk, we'll be unable to issue your Prepaid Digital Visa Card. Your email address and mobile number must be valid. Customers who are unable to receive their Prepaid Digital Visa Card via email will be sent a physical Prepaid Visa Card. AGL will disclose your name and postal address to Blackhawk for the purpose of issuing your Prepaid Visa Card to you via post.
