Why do I need to sign up to a plan?

Since you moved in to your new home we’ve been looking after your electricity or gas supply (as outlined in the letter we sent you). But it’s important we confirm that you want us to keep doing this.

By signing up to a new AGL plan we’ll make it official and get you set up to receive the discounts and rewards available to you.

If you don’t start a new plan, your supply may be interrupted or disconnected, and disconnection or reconnection charges may apply.

Why do I already have a contract with AGL?

Because the previous occupants of your property left and we didn’t have your details, we’ve set you up on a Standard Retail Contract to help keep your electricity or gas supply running.

The Standard Retail Contract is the legal name of our default plan and doesn’t include any discounts or rate offers.

When will I get billed?

After we’ve set up your new account on your chosen plan, we may issue a bill to bring your billing up to date.

Future bills will be issued either monthly or quarterly, depending on your meter type. You can change the frequency of your upcoming bills at any time by logging into My Account.

The discounts apply to usage charges only and do not apply to fees or other charges such as supply, demand or green charges. Before your energy plan period ends, AGL may contact you to advise you of new discounts or benefits that will subsequently apply to you. AGL's standard retail contract rates are updated periodically on agl.com.au/src.

&$25 credit (GST inclusive) per energy plan when you sign up online. AGL may exclude accounts that have received a once-off credit in the previous 12 months from receiving additional once-off credits. The credit will be applied to the first bill issued under this plan and is not transferable.
