When will I find out if my application has been successful?
Usually within 10 business days.
How will I be notified?
Applicants will be contacted via phone call and/or email.
Can I choose which account I want the Drought Relief Assistance to be paid against?
For customers that have multiple eligible accounts, the grant will be applied to the oldest overdue debt first followed by the largest debt as at 18 June 2019.
How much will my payment be?
The amount of your debt relief credit will depend on the amount of overdue debt you have on your eligible AGL energy account(s), up to a maximum of $1,500 (incl GST).
How will the payment be made?
It will be applied as a credit line on a future gas or electricity bill without putting your bill(s) into credit.

Solar Assistance FAQs

When will I be contacted to discuss the suitability of my application?
Within 15 business days.
How will I be notified?
Applicants will be contacted via phone call and/or email.
Do I need to be an AGL Customer to be eligible for the Solar Assistance package?
No, applicants do not need to have a pre-existing AGL electricity or gas account to be eligible for the Solar Assistance package.
How much discount will be applied to my bill?
Depending on the size of the solar PV system installed, the upfront solar discount which is a once off payment applied to the solar system price on a lump sum basis before taxes, will be between $2,500 - $25,000 (excl GST). Farmers can choose any system size from 10kW up to 100kW and receive a $250 discount per kW installed (excl GST).
How will the discount or credit be applied?
The upfront solar discount is a once off payment applied to the solar system price on a lump sum basis before taxes.
Can I choose to have the solar discount paid in cash?
No. Funding from this program is only available via a credit or discount.
What will be the remaining cost of the solar panels after the discount?
This will depend on the size of the solar panels installed. Our team will assess and determine the best fit for your circumstances.
Can I apply for the Solar Assistance across multiple accounts?
No, applicants can only apply for the Solar Assistance package on one business account.
How many other AGL Farmers Assist initiatives can I apply for?
If you meet the eligibility criteria, you may apply for Drought Relief Assistance and Solar Assistance.
What’s the min/max system size I can apply for?
Farmers can choose any system size from 10kW up to 100kW and receive a $250 discount per kW installed (excl GST).
How long after my application being approved will the solar PV system be installed?
We will advise of the target date for installation. The time depends on the project complexity and location.
Do I have to have a specific system type installed?
Yes. AGL provides a turnkey solution taking care of the engineering design, procurement and installation of the system.
Can AGL help with installation?
AGL installs the Solar PV system.
