Refund email scam - 18 February 2025

We’re aware of an AGL branded scam email that is currently circulating, with the heading “Your refund is available online”.  Don’t click or select any links – they go to a fake website impersonating AGL.

How you can tell this is a scam

  • The email is not coming from an agl.com.au email address.
  • The “Access Your Form” link is not going to an AGL website.

SMS scams

Here are some examples of scam SMS messages claiming to be from AGL. Don’t follow these links - they go to fake websites impersonating AGL.

How you can tell these SMS messages are scams

  • The links don’t go to the AGL website.
  • Poorly worded or threatening language.
