How do grid-scale batteries work?
Grid-scale batteries play an important role in Australia's energy transition by helping keep the electricity grid in balance as we shift to a renewable energy system. These large battery systems are connected to the grid and respond quickly to changes in electricity supply or demand. By storing excess energy, from other energy sources like wind and solar, and releasing it when demand is high, grid-scale batteries help support a more stable and reliable energy system.
