The current rehabilitation concept for the Loy Yang Mine license area includes returning the majority of land to agricultural use, consistent with the pre-mining land use, with other planned land uses to include forestry, energy or industrial uses, environmental purposes, and areas open for public access and community use.

AGL currently plans to repurpose the mine void into a full pit lake, to achieve a safe, stable and sustainable post mining landform.

AGL is currently planning to transition the Loy Yang A Power Station site to an industrial energy hub after scheduled power station closure.
