AGL’s submission to the AEMC’s draft rule determination: establishing a regulatory framework for retail customer-initiated gas abolishment

AGL Energy (AGL) welcomes the opportunity to comment on the AEMC’s draft rule determination on establishing a regulatory framework for retail customer-initiated gas abolishment.

In our submission, AGL’s supports the AEMC’s proposed national framework for customer‑initiated gas abolishment and emphasises the need for low, cost‑reflective fees that do not discourage customers from fully removing unused gas connections. It also calls for clear cost‑recovery arrangements and targeted government policies to protect vulnerable customers and support an equitable transition to electrification.
