I’m proud to lead a team of technology professionals

My role provides technology leadership for electricity generation and AGL’s Energy Hubs, bridging the gap between our operational business units and technology services.

My team’s goal is to provide reliable technology solutions that align with AGL’s business needs, enhancing productivity and streamlining operations, while supporting the overall success of our organisation.

My energy journey began in AGL’s contact centre

I started off in our retail business as a Customer Service Representative in AGL’s Adelaide office, which included supporting our contact centre operations in Manila. I also had an opportunity to relocate to Melbourne to manage Ombudsman complaints and help improve AGL’s processes along the way.

After a few years in customer experience and process improvement roles, I joined the Technology team, where I bridged the gap with our retail business to leverage technology for an exceptional customer and business experience.

I then took an opportunity to learn more about the generation and trading side of our business, managing more than 140 technology applications. Soon after, I was promoted to my current role, based at our Torrens Island operations, supporting gas and renewables asset technology.

One of the best things about working at AGL is the investment it makes in its employees through continuous learning and career development. Along with a diverse and supportive community, it’s what’s kept me here for more than 12 years.

There’s never a dull moment

The best thing about working in energy is the tremendous positive impact on Australia's transition to a renewable future. It’s truly inspiring to be a part of something so significant and forward-thinking. The industry is constantly evolving – always innovating, finding new ways to improve, and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.

Each day brings fresh challenges and opportunities, making the work exciting and dynamic.

My energy career advice for women and girls

The energy industry is brimming with opportunities, offering diverse career paths. Whether your interest lies in finance, marketing, electrical engineering, technology, or sales, there’s so much choice available in energy.

I encourage all women and girls to believe in themselves and to step outside of their comfort zones. Give it a go and explore the endless possibilities on offer. It’s by taking these leaps that allows us to learn so much about ourselves and what we want from our careers.
