AGL welcomes the opportunity to provide responses to the consultation questions posed by the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW-NSW) on the NSW Emergency Backstop Mechanism and a Consumer Energy Resources (CER) Installer Portal. AGL supports the NSW Government’s requirement for distribution network service providers to harmonise their implementation of the backstop mechanism, and to deliver a single CER installer portal for Common Smart Inverter Profile – Australia capability tests and to improve the quality of information collected on CER installations. AGL’s view is that harmonisation is critical to achieve a smoother implementation in NSW, and to ensure the effectiveness of the emergency backstop.
