AGL and Velocity Frequent Flyer unveil expansion of loyalty program partnership

AGL and Velocity Frequent Flyer are partnering up again to expand the loyalty offering for AGL customers, giving the millions of Australians on an electrification journey and who are adopting customer energy resources (CER) like solar batteries or EV home chargers, the opportunity to earn Velocity Points.  

Eligible customers within select areas of Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and South Australia, that purchase an eligible solar battery bundle and join AGL’s Virtual Power Plant can earn up to 150,000 Velocity Points over 5 years.^1,3

For battery only, customers can earn up to 125,000 Velocity Points over 5 years when purchasing an eligible battery and joining AGL’s VPP. ^2-3 Eligible customers in all states and territories (excluding ACT) could earn 10,000 Velocity Points through the purchase of an eligible EV home charger.  

150,000 Velocity Points can be redeemed for a return Economy flight from Brisbane to Athens on Qatar Airways (plus taxes, fees and carrier charges)^^ or redeemed on various household, technology, beauty and apparel items at myer.com.au, via the Velocity Reward Store, and more. 

Velocity and AGL first launched their partnership in April 2024 with a consumer energy offer focussed on electricity and gas.

Increasingly, we are seeing days where rooftop solar is, in the middle of the day, the leading source of electricity being contributed to our energy system.

How to earn Velocity Points with AGL³:

Customers must be a member of the Velocity Frequent Flyer Program and provide details of their Velocity membership when purchasing an eligible product from AGL. 

• Customers in VIC, NSW, QLD & SA where AGL operates who purchase an eligible battery and sign up to AGL’s Virtual Power Plant receive up to 125,000 Velocity Points in total, that’s 50,000 upfront Velocity Points plus a bonus 15,000 Velocity Points per year for staying connected to AGL’s VPP (for a maximum of 5 years)
• Customers in VIC, NSW, QLD & SA where AGL operates who purchase an eligible solar battery bundle and sign up to AGL’s Virtual Power Plant can receive up to 150,000 Velocity Points in total, that’s 75,000 upfront Velocity Points plus a bonus 15,000 Velocity Points per year for staying connected to AGL’s VPP (for a maximum of 5 years) 
• Customers in QLD, NSW, VIC, SA, WA, NT and TAS who purchase an eligible EV home charger can receive 10,000 Velocity Points
