AGL announces Amazon Alexa skill
AGL announces it will offer Amazon Alexa voice control to AGL customers which will make it easier for them to manage their energy at home.
AGL Executive General Manager, New Energy, Elisabeth Brinton, said AGL customers could sign up to use Amazon Alexa, the intelligent voice service that customers can talk to on Amazon Alexa compatible devices.
She said customers would be able to ask Alexa key questions about their energy bill by enabling the AGL skill for Alexa, giving them more convenience in how they interact with AGL.
“As part of our work with Amazon, throughout February we are delighted to offer customers with a valid email or mobile for marketing purposes a single use 10 per cent discount code on a single shopping transaction (up to a maximum purchase amount of $100). The offer applies to items sold by Amazon AU only and excludes all products sold by third party sellers, digital content, e-books, subscriptions and gift cards via the Amazon app or amazon.com.au. The discount code must be redeemed by 31 March 2018,” Ms Brinton said.
“We’re also offering customers who have registered for AGL’s online services (My Account and/or the AGL App by 28 February) a chance to win one of four $1,000 Amazon shopping vouchers.
“This initial offer is designed to celebrate our work with Amazon Alexa which allows us to grow our investment and knowledge in smart home technology and unlock greater benefits for energy users.
“This is a natural extension of our commitment to giving customers greater control over their energy use and follows our track record of innovation and advocacy for new technologies and solutions including smart metering, mobile management of energy usage, and electric vehicle charging.
“As our own business model moves towards a more personalised experience, we are delighted to work with Amazon Alexa and to offer our customers this exclusive discount on their Amazon shopping.”
