Approval upheld for AGL's Gloucester Gas Project development

AGL Energy Limited (AGL) welcomes the decision by the NSW Land and Environment Court today to uphold the approvals granted under Part 3A of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 (NSW) for the Gloucester Gas Project's overall Concept Plan and Stage 1 development.

The Gloucester Gas Project is part of the solution to meet, in an environmentally responsible way, the growing demand for energy in NSW.

Mike Moraza, Group General Manager Upstream Gas says AGL is pleased with the court's decision.

"AGL is committed to the safe and sustainable development of natural gas supply for New South Wales customers. We will work with the Gloucester community in the coming weeks and months to ensure all exploration plans are communicated clearly, concisely and in a timely manner"

A decision on when to proceed drilling of the Waukivory Pilot has not yet been made, however AGL will inform the community about the commencement of works.
