AGL is one of Australia's leading integrated energy companies and largest ASX listed owner, operator and developer of renewable energy generation in the country.

The Powering Australian Renewables Fund (PARF) is a landmark partnership created by AGL to develop, own and manage approximately 1,000 MW of large-scale renewable energy infrastructure assets and projects. These projects will help meet Federal Government targets and spur investment and development in support of Australia’s transition to a low-carbon economy.

We are committed to playing a leading role in developing a pathway to a modern, decarbonised generation sector, developing and investing in new renewable and near-zero emission technologies.

Renewable sources are an important part of AGL’s generation capacity (power stations owned, operated or otherwise controlled by AGL). AGL's renewable energy generation comes from many locations and is produced through a variety of technologies including:

  • Landfill gas in the eastern states, Tasmania and Western Australia

  • Biomass in Queensland

  • Biogas in Victoria

  • Solar in South Australia and large-scale solar projects, in NSW

  • Wind farms in South Australia and Victoria, and

  • Hydroelectricity assets concentrated around the Victorian and NSW border.

Through AGL's suite of renewable energy assets, we are taking action toward creating a sustainable energy future for our investors, communities and customers.
