AGL is one of Australia's leading integrated energy companies and largest ASX listed owner, operator and developer of renewable energy generation in the country. AGL has already invested over $3 billion in renewable investments, including AGL's Nyngan and Broken Hill solar plants, Australia’s largest utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) power plants.

AGL supports increasing the proportion of renewables in Australia's energy mix.

Renewable sources are an important part of AGL’s generation capacity (power stations owned, operated or otherwise controlled by AGL). Renewable energy generation that comes from many locations and is produced through a variety of technologies including:

  • Landfill gas in the eastern states, Tasmania and Western Australia
  • Biomass in Queensland
  • Biogas in Victoria
  • Solar in South Australia and large-scale solar projects, in NSW
  • Wind farms in South Australia and Victoria, and
  • Hydroelectricity assets concentrated around the Victorian and NSW border.
