Wind generation is one of the most economic and popular forms of renewable technology being deployed today.
Hallett Wind Farm
The AGL Hallett Wind Farm project, located 220 kilometres north of Adelaide in South Australia will be able to produce enough clean renewable energy to power over 60,000 homes when it is completed in 2008.
The Hallett Wind Farm comprises two projects – Hallett, spread over 14 kilometres along Brown Hill Ridge, and Hallett Hill, approximately 20 kilometres away near Mount Bryan. These, combined with Wattle Point, will mean AGL has 134 wind turbines in South Australia with a total capacity of 257MW.
Hallett is an ideal location for wind generation as there is enough wind here to produce emission free electricity 96% of the time.
