Changes to your energy account questions and answers

This information applies to existing NSW (gas and electricity) and South Australian (electricity) customers.

Bill Layout Changes

Q. Why has my bill changed?
A. We have improved the design of your bill to make it simpler and easier for you to understand.

Q. What is changing?
A. All that is changing is the format of your bill, it contains the same information as your old bill but in an improved, easier to understand layout.

Q. How do I read my new bill?
A. See our 'Understanding your bill' section of the website which has examples of our bills and includes explanations of each section.

New Account Number & BPAY® Biller Codes

Q. Why do I have a new account number and new BPAY Biller Codes?
A. AGL are currently undergoing a systems upgrade and need to generate new account numbers and BPAY biller codes to support the new platform.

Q. What do I need to do?
A. Remember to update your new BPAY® and POSTbillpay® biller codes and reference numbers when paying your next energy bill. 

Q. I am on Direct Debit; do I need to change any of these details?
A. No, you don't need to do anything with your Direct Debit arrangement; we have a process in place that will ensure this continues to operate as normal.

Q. I have scheduled payments taken from my account via BPAY, do I need to change anything?
A. No, there is no need to make any changes to the way you are paying your accounts.

Q. I have just made a payment using my old account details, how will I be affected?
A. You will not be affected in any way as our payment systems will still recognise your old account details.
