Marc Barrington, Head of Carbon Management Services
Marc is responsible for the CMS Advisory, Engineering and Technical Teams. Marc was previously Head of Eco-Markets at AGL Energy, and actively managed the largest renewables and emissions obligations in the country, covering mandatory and voluntary schemes. Marc’s group was instrumental in committing AGL to joining the Chicago Climate Exchange, making the company the only entity of its kind outside of North America to voluntarily commit to legally binding emission reduction targets.
Prior to taking up his current role, Marc traded within AGL’s electricity portfolio, with his formative years trading in the precious metals markets at NM Rothschild & Sons in both Sydney and London. He later worked at MKS Capital managing the precious and base metals trading operation.

Tim Nelson, Manager Carbon Analysis
Tim is responsible for managing AGL’s communication on Carbon issues with all levels of government in Australia. Tim is also responsible for managing AGL’s assessment and quantification of the impacts of emissions trading and renewable energy policies on the AGL business, and originating renewable energy and emissions reduction projects.
Prior to working with AGL, Tim was employed as a Principal Policy Officer at the NSW Cabinet Office. In this role, Tim coordinated the development of the NSW Energy Directions Green Paper and was an advisor on the design and implementation of the NSW Greenhouse Gas Abatement Scheme – the world’s first GHG emissions trading scheme. Tim holds an Honours degree in Economics.

James Hunt, Strategic Advisor
James is a Strategic Advisor in the CMS Advisory Team and is responsible for AGL’s customers NGER Act reporting, compliance and Carbon management strategy development. James has extensive experience in environmental consulting including GHG inventory and Carbon footprint assessment, auditing, environmental assessment, risk assessment and due diligence.
James has a degree in Environmental Science with Honours and has completed a Doctor of Philosophy.

Andrew Dudgeon, Manager Carbon Monitoring and Verification
Andrew managed AGL’s reporting and compliance with the NGER Act and leads the Carbon Monitoring and Verification Team, being responsible for registration, compliance, reporting and certificate creation under various state and federal schemes. Andrew has an extensive background in engineering and environmental consulting, with specific experience in corporate and project GHG accounting, greenhouse auditing, and climate change policy and legislation analysis.
Andrew has a Bachelor of Engineering degree and over 10 years experience in the energy sector.

Maria Androutsopoulos, Sustainability Commercial Development Manager
Maria is responsible for providing advice on, identifying and aiding the development of energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives arising for AGL and its customers. Previously, Maria was a Carbon and Renewable Trader within the AGL Eco-Markets Team. In this role, Maria’s responsibilities included managing AGL’s environmental obligations, both in renewables and emissions. Maria’s industrial experience was in the manufacturing sector, where she worked on technical and financial modelling of numerous Build, Own and Operate projects for boiler, chiller and cogeneration systems as well as energy audits and greenhouse inventory.
Maria has a Bachelor of Engineering degree with Honours and a Bachelor of Commerce degree.

Jon Ambler, Manager CMS Projects
Jon’s team is responsible for the delivery of energy efficiency and infrastructure projects to AGL’s largest 500 customers. Jon has been instrumental in developing the strategy for the delivery of energy efficiency improvements, energy performance contracts and a range of projects in a variety of industries including commercial buildings, the health care sector and large industrial customers.
Jon has Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering and over 14 years experience in engineering, energy management and project delivery.

Cathlin Thurbon, Manager Sustainability Strategy
Cathlin is responsible for maintaining AGL’s leadership position and communicating AGL’s sustainability performance to investors, the community and other key stakeholders via AGL’s sustainability report and key Carbon and sustainability indexes such as the Carbon Disclosure Project. Cathlin has previously played a key role in developing AGL’s greenhouse accounting methodology, and was responsible for preparing and communicating AGL’s annual greenhouse footprint.
Cathlin holds a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering with Honours and has over ten years experience in the environmental field.

Glenn Dennis, Manager Project Development
Glenn manages the Project Development Team and has contributed to the development of AGL investments including cogeneration, compressed natural gas, landfill and other renewable projects. This has included negotiation of long-term Build, Own and Operate contracts, commercial and technical feasibility evaluations, and preparation of business papers for executive/board approval.
Glenn has an Honours degree in Science and a Masters degree in Chemistry. Glenn has over 13 years experience with AGL in numerous fields including engineering design, commercial and business development.

Rebecca Spedding, Green Accreditation Manager
Rebecca is responsible for the green accreditation of all AGL’s energy producing projects under Australian state and federal GHG schemes such as GGAS, Greenhouse Friendly Scheme, Renewable Energy Program and the Queensland Gas Scheme. This includes project registration, compliance auditing, reporting and creation of certificates. Rebecca is also part of the team ensuring AGL’s compliance with the NGER Act. Rebecca joined AGL Energy in 2002 and was involved in the development of standard procedures for AGL’s Project Development Team, which were geared towards large-scale Build, Own and Operate projects. Prior to AGL, Rebecca was employed in the IT and government sectors as an administrator. |

Peter Dewhurst, Manager, Carbon Management Services Queensland
Peter is currently employed as Manager, Carbon Management Services Queensland. He holds a Masters in Business Administration and Diplomas in Gas Engineering and Energy Technology. With over 20 years in the Queensland Energy Market, Peter has worked with a number of major energy customers in senior management, engineering and training and development roles whilst employed by Origin Energy, Energex and AGL. Peter’s experience includes: converting Brisbane’s industrial customers from towns gas solid or liquid fuels to natural gas; project management; process design; training design and delivery; contract management; and the strategic sourcing and procurement of natural gas. |
