To pay your bill via credit card, please visit the credit card payment page and enter your details.

PayPal

In order to pay your bill using PayPal, you will need to use your AGL account number which you’ll find located on your AGL bill. Your AGL account number has replaced your Australian Power & Gas account number.  If you have it handy, visit the AGL PayPal payment page to complete your payment.

If you’re not sure of your AGL account number you can call AGL on 131 245 8am-6pm, Monday to Friday.

Frequently asked questions. 

What are the benefits of being an AGL customer?

As one of Australia’s largest energy companies, AGL offers a range of products and services to help meet your energy needs, including:

  • My AGL Monthly Bill – have more control over when and how you receive your energy bills with regular, easier to manage payments. 
  • AGL Energy Online – manage your energy account when it suits you, 24/7. In a few clicks, you can register for eBilling, take up My AGL Monthly Bill, set your payments to Direct Debit and much 
  • My AGL IQ® – we developed this unique online tool to make it easy to monitor your energy usage. You can see how much energy you’ve used at different times. Then set energy saving goals and find practical ways to reduce your energy usage. Because when you save energy, you can save money too. Once you receive your first AGL bill, you will be able to start monitoring your usage.  However please note, your previous usage with Australian Power & Gas will not be available.
  • AGL Smarter Living® – bringing smart energy solutions to life online, in store or at home. You’ll find the latest energy saving products and services, as well as expert advice on everything from LED downlights to a tailored solar power 
  • flybuys – simply link your AGL and flybuys accounts to earn 1 flybuys point per $1 spent on AGL products and services.



Will my energy plan stay the same?

During the transition you will continue to be supplied with your electricity and/or gas just as you are now. For almost all customers this will be under the same plan you have with Australian Power & Gas. If we need to change something about your plan or rates, we will give you notice of that change and your options. 

Will my account numbers change?

For the time being your account numbers will not change. If you have any questions about your account, simply quote your current account number. When you are moved onto AGL’s billing system we will contact you with your new account number.

Will I have to make a new Direct Debit arrangement?

In most cases, your existing Direct Debit payment arrangements will continue as they are during the transition. We will contact you if these details need to change.

Will my payment options change?

During the transition you will still be able to make payments using Direct Debit, by credit card online, PayPal, BPAY or cash or cheque at the Post Office, AMEX will not be available going forward.

Will I keep my concession?

Yes, if you currently receive a concession on your energy plan, this will continue.

What if I recently re-signed a long-term agreement with Australian Power & Gas?

Your plan and rates should not change as part of this transition. You’ll start to see an AGL logo on your bill, but otherwise it should be business as usual. If we need to change something about your plan or rates, we will give you notice of that change and your options.

Can I still access Online Services through the Australian Power & Gas website? 

Australian Power & Gas Online Services will still be available. However, Australian Power & Gas Plus will no longer be available. Once you have transitioned to AGL, you will have access to AGL Energy Online and the smart My AGL IQ online service. See AGL benefits section above for more information.    

I am moving house. What happens to my energy supply and account?

During the transition, as long as you are moving into an area that Australian Power & Gas currently services, it will be business as usual.


How do I read my AGL bill?

We have developed an easy to use bill explainer for your gas (PDF download) and electricity (PDF download) bills to help you understand the features of your new AGL bill.


Will I still receive my Prompt Payment discount?

When an Australian Power & Gas bill was paid on time, you may have received a 'Prompt Payment Discount' on your bill. At AGL this discount is detailed on your bill as a 'Pay On Time' discount.
