AGL announces new Group GM Retail Energy

AGL Energy Limited (AGL) today announced the appointment of r Ken Hodgson as its new Group General Manager of Retail Energy. Mr Hodgson replaces Phil James who retired at the end of September 2008.

Mr Hodgson has an extensive background in managing large and complex retailing businesses in the financial services sector. His most recent role was as General Manager Consumer Financial Services at Westpac. In that role, he led Westpac’s Australian consumer banking business with responsibility for more than 8,000 employees, 750 branches, and 3.3 million customers. Prior to that, he held a similar position with responsibility for Westpac’s New Zealand consumer banking busin ess. He also worked with National Australia Bank for more than 20 years, predominantly in
retail and personal financial services.

AGL’s Managing Director, Michael Fraser said “Ken has the right business and leadership experience to successfully lead our Retail business through its next development stage”.

Mr Hodgson is expected to commence his role with AGL in December.
