Regular pre-tax donations matched dollar for dollar by AGL

AGL's Employee Giving program helps employees support the causes they care about through regular or one-off donations made through their pre-tax salary, with their donations matched, dollar for dollar, by AGL (up to an annual maximum of $200,000).
Since the program began in 2003, we’ve donated more than $1.1 million to 18 causes close to the hearts of AGL people.

Alzheimer's Australia Australians over the age of 65 have a 1 in 15 chance of developing Alzheimer's or Dementia. Alzheimer's Australia is the peak body representing the interests of people affected by Dementia, providing them with free education and support as well as their families and carers. Alzheimer's Australia also provides leadership in policy and services by participating in research initiatives and raising community awareness. |

CanTeen CanTeen's mission is to support, develop and empower young people living with cancer. CanTeen provides a high quality Australia-wide peer support network who share experiences, have fun, offer resources and promote understanding, well being and leadership. CanTeen's main objective is to provide peer support for its members who include 12-24 year old patients, their siblings and the offspring of a parent or primary carer living with cancer. |

CARE Australia CARE Australia, the Australian face of overseas aid, is a non-religious, non-political organisation that provides humanitarian assistance to serve the poorest individuals and families in the world. CARE Australia is part of CARE International, providing projects in sustainable development, health support, general education and environmental rehabilitation. Together, CARE international supported more than 1,000 projects in 69 countries in 2007 delivering aid to over 40 million beneficiaries. |

Children's Cancer Research Institute Australia The Children's Cancer Research Institute aims to be a leader in preventing cancer and finding new ways of curing cancer in children through world-class research.
The Institute is one of the major medical research facilities in NSW, alongside the Garvan Institute of Medical Research and the Children’s Medical Research Institute.
Although medical research is its main focus, the Institute is actively involved with families around Australia, providing counselling and bereavement services, educational seminars, activities for siblings , special family outings and financial assistance. |

The Garvan Institute of Medical Research The Garvan Institute is dedicated to understanding the role of genes in health and disease. The ultimate goal of Garvan scientists is the relief of pain and suffering for people affected by many of the major diseases and disorders in our society including cancer, diabetes, osteoporosis, arthritis, and asthma. Garvan scientists have achieved many exciting, life-changing breakthroughs over the years in each of the Institute's research programs. |

Kids Help Line Kids Help Line is Australia's only free, 24 hour telephone and on line counselling service specifically for young people aged 5 to 25 years. Each week, over 12,000 kids try to get through to Kids Help Line. However, counsellors answer only 6,000 calls and emails each week – often regarding serious issues. Every day Kids Help Line refers a child to an emergency service to deal with a serious issue like child abuse or self harm. Four times each day counsellors speak with children and young people having suicidal thoughts and One in five counselling calls relate to mental health, self injury or suicide. |

Landcare Australia Landcare brings ordinary Australians together to tackle the serious threats facing our environment. AGL and employees have chosen to concentrate their support on Landcare water quality and greenhouse projects. Landcare Australia is supporting an inspiring community network, with more than 6,500 Landcare, Coastcare and Bushcare groups and over 100,000 volunteers working all over Australia to help save our precious land and water resources. |

Lifeline Australia Lifeline believes that every person has the right to be heard and understood with compassion and to receive competent care in time of need. Lifeline supports individuals through the journey of giving and receiving care.
Lifeline Australia is the national body representing the 42 Lifeline Centres throughout Australia. Lifeline Australia has the key responsibility for managing the 13 11 14 national phone number ensuring a high quality service and accrediting the Lifeline Centres to carry the Lifeline name and identity. Any day, any time, between 60 and 100 volunteer Lifeline counsellors are available to callers across Australia on 13 11 14. In a typical 24 hour period, more than 1000 calls will be answered. Lifeline's focus is on assisting with problem solving to find lasting solutions. |

They do this by offering more than 320 innovative services in metropolitan, rural and regional Australia, in every State and Territory. |

National Breast Cancer Foundation The ultimate goal of the National Breast Cancer Foundation's is to raise enough money to fund a cure for breast cancer. The NBCF is a not-for profit organisation established to fund all forms of research into the prevention and cure of breast cancer. The NBCF is unique in its research funding as it is the only community organisation that awards funds specifically for research across the continuum of breast cancer - from genetics to treatment, to support and palliative care. Funds raised are directed to the best research in Australia – they are neither limited by state boundaries nor institutional policies. They have no vested interest other than ensuring they progress knowledge about breast cancer. |

Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia The Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia is a not-for-profit charitable service providing aeromedical emergency and primary health care services together with communication to people who live, work and travel in regional and remote Australia. The RFDS provides aeromedical emergency and primary health care services together with communication to people who live, work and travel in Australia's remote outback. The RFDS also works in partnership with universities in training rural doctors, nurses and dentists. It also flies female GPs and medical specialists to rural and remote areas. |

The RSPCA The RSPCA's mission is to prevent cruelty to animals by actively promoting their care and protection. First founded in Victoria in 1871, The RSPCA now operates in every state and territory of Australia making it Australia's only truly national, non-government, animal welfare charity. Created by the community, and driven by strong community support, The RSPCA would cease to function without public backing, and the future of thousands of animals would look very bleak. |

SA Seabird Rescue SA Seabird Rescue is a seabird rehabilitation facility, housed on donated land within the AGL Torrens Island Power Station in Port Adelaide. A sister initiative of Project Dolphin Safe Assoc Inc, SA Seabird Rescue provides rehabilitation respite for injured sea and shore birds rescued from the surrounding Port River waterways, via a purpose-constructed facility of cages, ponds and enclosures. Located on the edge of a lagoon, the rehabilitation centre allows injured birds to remain close to their natural habitat, while receiving the medical attention and physiotherapy they need for full recovery. Torrens Island Power Station provides dedicated land for the rescue service as well as some ongoing funding for the project. |

The Salvation Army Affectionately known as 'The Salvos', The Salvation Army is one of the largest and most visible providers of care and social service to the Australian community, assisting more than 1 million people every year. AGL and employees distribute their support across two of their most important programs: Money Care is the financial counselling arm of The Salvation Army which works face to face with clients to provide basic financial counselling and advice. Orana Lodge provides safe and secure emergency accommodation for women and children who are homeless or fleeing domestic violence. |

The Smith Family Learning for Life The Smith Family's Learning for Life program provides financially disadvantaged young people and their families with support and financial assistance to help with educational costs such as uniforms, textbooks, excursions and other school materials. Over 27,000 students are currently participating in the Learning for Life program throughout regional, rural and metropolitan Australia. Every $324 raised by AGL employees will give one child and their family access to an Education Support Worker on the Learning for Life program for a year. |

Whitelion Whitelion aims to connect disadvantaged young people with life giving opportunities, motivating experiences and valued relationships. Whitelion provides role modelling, mentoring, employment and other support programs within the juvenile justice system and through preventative programs in the broader community. Whitelion is a Victorian organisation that has recently expanded to Tasmania. |

WWF-Australia WWF's mission is to stop the degradation of the planet's natural environment and to build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature by:
- Conserving the world's biological diversity
- Ensuring the use of renewable natural resources is sustainable
- Promoting the reduction of pollution and wasteful consumption
WWF-Australia works towards practical solutions for our big environmental problems – such as the threats to our unique wildlife, their habitats and our natural resources.
Their work is focussed on five priority areas: threatened species; oceans and coasts; freshwater; forests, woodlands and grasslands; and natural resources. |

Youth Off The Streets Youth Off The Streets supports chronically homeless and drug addicted young Australians as they work to turn their lives around. It is their goal that these young people will leave our care drug free, with a high school education, living skills and a full or part time job in hand. Based on the philosophy that every young person has greatness within, these programs are non-denominational and non-discriminatory. |
