More development
We are committed to raising the benchmark when it comes to the development of our leaders. To reach this goal we have established the Leadership in Action program to deliver on this commitment. This program is customised for new and experienced leaders.
More sustainable
AGL is publicly recognised as a leader in sustainability. In fact AGL owns Australia's largest privately operated portfolio of renewable generation assets.
To further highlight our position on a global stage, AGL is the only Australian integrated energy company included in the Dow Jones World Sustainability Index. The index tracks the top 10% in terms of sustainability performance in each sector of the world's largest 2,500 companies. AGL is one of only 13 companies who made it into the DJSI World for the Electric Utilities sector, out of 105 companies worldwide.
Climate Change Leadership Award
- AGL Energy
AGL was proud to recently accept a sustainability award by the NSW Government's Department of Environment and Climate Change. "AGL is recognised as a global leader in sustainability and carbon disclosure. They have demonstrated a commitment to climate change leadership. AGL has also influenced climate change policy with their study - "Options for Moving Towards a Low Emission Future" now adopted by policy makers worldwide." Judges comments.
In addition, AGL's Bogong Hydro Power station has also been recognised, winning an EcoGen 2010 Clean Energy Award, named Most Outstanding Clean Energy Project.

More responsible
AGL cares about the communities we touch. Both at a corporate and employee level, we engage and invest in community projects and have paid over 10,400 hours of volunteering leave to our employees, to help them give back to communities. $1.2 million has also been jointly raised with employee's chosen charities since 2003 along with 900,000 warm winter nights funded for the homeless.
Our commitment to an ethical workplace is expressed in the AGL Code of Conduct, which applies to all contractors, employees and directors.
“There’s never been a better time to join the energy industry. As we prepare to compete in a carbon constrained future, AGL is committed to a path of growing renewable energy solutions, helping our customers to reduce their energy footprint and engaging our people in the fight against climate change. With actions, not words…”
