Step 2 – Preparation for an interview
- You may be asked to come along for an interview with our recruitment partner and/or AGL.
The more you know about AGL and the job you’ve applied for, the more confident you’ll be in the interview. Browsing this website will help you to find out more about what we do and what it's like to work at AGL.
- Our recruitment partners have access to information about our working environment, as well as a detailed position description.
Step 3 – The interview
- We use a technique called behavioural event interviewing.
- This technique helps the interviiewer to assess your suitability for the position based on real life examples of your performance in previous experiences.
- If you are applying for a position in one of our customer contact centres, you may be asked to attend a group interview or assessment centre.
- Your recruitment consultant will be able to provide you with further details about how the assessment centre works.
Step 4 – Reference checks
- AGL conduct two verbal reference checks from your previous employers.
- Your referees won’t be contacted without your knowledge.
Step 5 – Other things
- AGL or your recruitment consultant will want to verify your right to work in Australia.
- You can do this by providing proof of citizenship or visa documentation. Your passport or Certificate of Citizenship will usually be best.
- We may ask you to participate in other activities - psychometric assessments, literacy or numeracy skills testing, criminal history checks (where this is an inherent requirement of the job), group interviews, or role plays.
