AGL has commenced an investment program to explore and develop a significant coal seam gas resource in the Macarthur reqion. The Camden Gas Project is a joint venture between AGL and Sydney Gas Limited, located 50 km south west of Sydney and it has been producing gas for the Sydney market since 2001.
Expansion of Stage 2 of the Camden Gas Project
AGL has submitted an Environmental Assessment with a Development Application to the NSW Department of Planning for the next phase in the development of the Camden Gas Project.
The Project Application proposes to expand the existing operations through the establishment of wells at 16 surface locations, low pressure gas gathering lines and access roads in the Spring Farm and Menangle Park areas. There are 4 well surface locations proposed in Spring Farm and 12 proposed in Menangle Park.
AGL is also proposing a Concept Plan to indicate our future plans for the existing Camden Gas Project area. AGL encourages community comments on the proposal.
The Department of Planning has placed the proposal on public exhibition from Wednesday, 26 September 2007 through until the close of business on Monday, 29 October 2007.
