AGL appoints new Director

AGL Energy Limited (AGL) Chairman Mark Johnson today announced the appointment of Mr John Stanhope as a non-executive director on the AGL Board.
Mr Stanhope, 58, is currently Chief Financial Officer at Telstra Corporation Ltd (Telstra). Mr Stanhope’s career with Telstra spans a period of more than 40 years, including more than 20 years in senior finance roles.
Mr Johnson said “Mr Stanhope has extensive experience in finance, corporate strategy, and risk management as well as in systems development to support large customer bases. He has played a leading role in transforming Telstra from a state owned enterprise to one of Australia’s largest public companies which is at the forefront of the telecommunications industry. We look forward to his contribution to the AGL Board. ”
