
AGL puts its energy into the community!
It has been a hectic fortnight for the Nova Working Bees – powered by AGL, to help out 32 community groups across Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane jam-packed into a frenzied two week period from April 14 to 27.
Sydney - called out for food donations to the Wayside Chapel; planted veggies at a Day Care in Abbotsford; distributed mulch for the garden in Seven Hills Primary School; brought morning tea for the working bees at Hoslworthy Netball Association; cleaned up the kennels at RSPCA Yagoona; helped out at the barbie for the Op Shop in Potts Point; cleaned up the grounds at Haberfield Scouts and helped out at the Riding for the Disabled Association – Nepean Centre in Orchard Hills.
Melbourne – provided recycling bins and energy efficient bulbs to the Coffee Palace Backpacker hostel; volunteered at the soup kitchen of the Sacred Heart Mission in St Kilda; fixed up the garden of the Upwey Girl Guides Club; provided paint materials to the Jacana Football Club in Craigieburn; helped out in building the playground in Glenroy West Primary School; provided plants and equipment for the picnic area of the Apollo Park Ways Primary School; provided paint and plants to brighten up the classrooms at Southvale Primary School in Noble Park and fixed up the garden at the Margail Dance Academy in Bayswater
Adelaide – helped clean up the Wigley Reserve in Glenelg; fixed up the garden of Netley Kindergaten; called out for donation to the Red Cross; provided cleaning tools for the Hackham Scout Group; helped out at the Op shop in Hampstead Gardens; fixed up the yard at Para Hills Primary School; cleaned up the kennels at RSPCA Lonsdale and in Salibsury Athletics Club, the bees replaced sporting equipments lost in a fire.
Brisbane – called out for donation and dropped off food at OZ Care in Chirnside; donated food to RSPCA Fairfield; cleaned up Tingalpa Creek in Thornside; provided tools to clean up the Capalaba Soccer Club; cleaned out the graffiti at the Kurbingui Youth Development Centre in Zillmere; helped rebuilt a wooden fort at a kindergarten in Coorparoo; purchased tools and equipment for the Nature Refuge at Moreton Bay Boys College; and provided Australian native plants to the Logan Reserve.
The promotion - aired over the Nova FM radio network - showcased how AGL is delivering energy in action every day by making a difference in the community.
